This week, we sadly had to close our doors once more for at least the next 4 weeks. As the country locks itself down once again, we thank you for returning again to read this week’s blog.

Online Classes

We have been working hard to ensure that we are able to offer you the best combination of both Live-Streamed and Recorded classes. With the use of new technology and streaming software which we have invested in, we have been able to create a studio which enables us to provide the best video and audio quality required to create an environment most similar to in person classes. Those of you who have already taken a look on our website may have noticed that the section formerly known as ‘Members Hub’, has been rebranded as ‘On Demand’.  Some pre-recorded classes have already be uploaded, which have been available since Thursday. We will continue to add more and more videos to this page so make sure you check page regularly.

A Live Class Timetable has been created and is now available to view. Follow the link below to view this. In order to access each Zoom class, you will need to use the code for the relevant instructor which can be found at the top of the Group Exercise Timetable page. We understand that a lot of people still have to go to work as usual and their daily routine has not changed that much, meaning you may not be able to tune in live to watch the classes. Fear not, all of the Zoom classes we put on are recorded, and uploaded to the On-Demand section of the website, so you are able to take part when best suits you. The current timetable is for week one, and the timetable for Week 2 will be released later on in the week.



As part of the Week One Live Class Timetable, we will be offering Invincibles Pilates. Kelly and Sam are currently familiarising themselves with the new equipment we have set up in our recording studio, and from week commencing 16th November, they will be instructing Monday and Friday Invincibles Aerobics zoom classes. Nikki will also resume emailing the Invincibles this week, as she did during the first lockdown. Our reception team are also more than happy to speak to any members who have any questions or concerns over the coming weeks, as we understand that lockdown can cause a wide range of troubles for everyone. If you personally or you know of anyone who might benefit speaking to one of us here at Wellington please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would love to do everything we can to help to the Invincible community over the coming weeks.

Member Story

This week we are pleased to feature our first members story. If you manage to get yourself out of bed for the 6:30am swim session each morning, you might have seen Paul Francis, 62, racking up the lengths. In August, he recorded 48km in the pool. He built on this in September, reaching 68km for the month. However, the stand out month was October, when he managed to reach 116km in the pool. This equates to 72.5 miles. So when combining the 3 months, Paul recorded 232km, 145 miles or 9,280 lengths. In other words, he swam the distance from Crowthorne to Nottingham.

Paul reflected that when he began tracking his swimming back in August, he had no ambition of swimming so far, but the combination of booking slots and not wanting to cancel his session led to increased discipline with his swimming. The highlight for Paul wasn’t the fact that he managed to achieve such a large distance, but instead that a member informed him that watching him had inspired them to get in the pool more often. Like many other members here, Paul has said noted his gratitude towards being able to swim again since July 23rd when the club opened back up again, and we are sure he is counting down the days until he can get back in the pool once more.

A big congratulations goes out to Paul from everyone here at Wellington, and we looking to seeing you again when the club re-opens.

Although our doors may be closed for the next few weeks, we are working as hard as ever to ensure you can still get the most out of being part of the Wellington community.
