At Wellington Health and Fitness Club, we offer a wide range of classes each week. If you’re unsure of what a class may involve, please check our descriptions below. Alternatively, you can contact us here should you have any further questions.

  • AEROBICS

    Class Description

    Good old fashioned Aerobics with easy to follow routines, classic moves like the grapevine.  With high and low impact variations in intensity.  All levels are welcome.

  • AQUA FIT

    Class Description

    A water based class, low impact. Using the resistance of water this workout is 45 minutes of cardio vascular exercise with strength and toning all the major muscles using the woggle. The class is choreographed to classics from the 80’s, 90’s and noughties – suitable for anyone who has a degree of water confidence.  Especially suitable if you have any lower limb injuries, making it great for people returning from knee or hip replacements.

  • BARRE

    Class Description

    Barre is a Ballet inspired fitness class. You do not need any ballet or dance experience to take part in this class. Designed to improve balance, posture and strengthen the legs and core, these classes are simple to follow and get you big results. All levels of fitness welcome.

  • BARBELLS & RACKS

    Class Description

    Not confident using a half rack? This 30 minute class with just 6 participants, is the perfect opportunity for you to gain confidence and learn how to lift a barbell safely with the coaching of one of our instructors. Get ready to feel strong and confident after this class! Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • BELLICON REBOUND

    Class Description

    A high intensity Aerobic class using the Bellicon rebounders (small trampettes). Improve your core strength and pelvic floor with the ultimate calorie burner. It’s the most fun you’ll ever have getting in shape, losing weight, improving your health, increasing your stamina, and boosting your immune system. Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • BOOTCAMP (SUMMER)

    Class Description

    Join Megan for this mega outdoor workout, using a combination of bodyweight, weights and cardio exercises this class will burn through all those extra BBQ calories and leave you feeling super strong

  • BOXING FITNESS

    Class Description

    Boxing Fitness – expect punches in bunches, choregraphed routines, some upfront dance music – and a whole lot of fun. No previous boxing experience required, but you must have a moderate level of fitness to attend.

  • DANCE FITNESS

    Class Description

    This freestyle dance class with styles from sexy samba, rock and rolling and ballroom, no dance experience is required. Your instructor will blast out classic sing along tunes for you to have a real good boogie too – The perfect way to boost good endorphins and increase your fitness.

  • LES MILLS BODYBALANCE

    Class Description

    Ideal for anyone and everyone, LES MILLS BODYBALANCE is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. During Body Balance, an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises, and instructors will always provide options for those just getting started. You’ll strengthen your entire body and leave the class feeling calm, centred and happy. As part of the LES MILLS BODYBALANCE program, the music and moves will change every quarter.

  • LES MILLS BODYPUMP

    Class Description

    The original barbell class. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition,  LES MILLS BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more. As part of the LES MILLS BODYPUMP program, the music and moves will change every quarter. Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • INDOOR CYCLING

    Class Description

    With our Stages SC3 Indoor Cycling bikes, your instructor will set goals and guide you through each stage of this exciting 45 minute class. The state of the art stages console will feed your live figures such as Watts, RPM and speed straight from the power pedal, allowing you to have an accurate representation of how hard you are working. Burning through a mega amount of calories in 45 minutes, this addictive class will push you to reach your fitness goals and beyond! Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • LEGS, TUMS AND BUMS

    Class Description

    This LTB (Legs, Tums & Bums) class will take you though a blend of aerobic and strength based exercises using weights, bands and bodyweight to target those all important areas to tone, define and strengthen. Suitable for beginners. Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • METCON

    Class Description

    Metabolic conditioning or METCON is a HIIT style training experience designed to burn calories effectively, increase lean muscle mass and improve metabolism using weights and body weight. This class is suitable for people with a moderate / high fitness level. Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • PILATES

    Class Description

    Pilates is an exercise class involving structured slow controlled moves. It is perfect to help with improved core muscle strength and endurance. This can lead to better posture, joint mobility, toned muscles, improved flexibility and fewer injuries.  Done correctly, Pilates can be tough, so don’t be fooled into thinking it’s easy!

  • SPINNING TABATA

    Class Description

    Tabata is a form of HIIT (high intensity interval training), but rather than burpees and squat jumps, this spinning Tabata class is on our SC3 Stages bikes. Every other track is Tabata style, 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. Combined with the latest dance music for a heart pumping, fat burning class that will keep you smiling for the rest of the day! Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

    Class Description

    Ideal for people who are new to weights and to those who are already strength training. This full body workout uses a combination of barbell and body weight exercises focusing on exercise technique and maximal muscle activation to strengthen and tone your body down to the deepest of muscles. Your instructor will guide you through each exercise and tell you what muscle group you are working, whilst helping you to achieve correct technique. You will leave this class feeling challenged and you will become more confident to lift heavier weights each time. This class takes place in our specialised Olympic gym with our strength and conditioning coach Lana. Please arrive 5 minutes in advance for set up time.

  • YOGA SOMATICS

    Class Description

    Yoga Somatics blends breathing techniques, somatic movement, restorative yoga and meditation, and is designed to reorganise the central nervous system, ground and realign the body and mind. It’ll help you sleep, improve your posture, digestion, and help to clear the brain.

  • ZUMBA

    Class Description

    Zumba uses a mix of Salsa, Reggaton, Merengue, Cumbia (South American dances). Combined with your instructors own individual dance moves, this provides a fun filled, energetic dance workout suitable for all ages and abilities.

  • YOGA

    Class Description

    Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. It involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques.

  • TRX

    Class Description

    One of our 30 minute classes held in the QUBE. Best-in-class workout system that delivers a fast, effective total-body workout. Simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. This class helps to build a rock-solid core, increases muscular endurance and benefits people of all fitness levels and abilities.

  • FST

    Class Description

    One of our 30 minute classes held in the QUBE. FST (functional strength training) class will use a combination of weights and bodyweight exercises, this class will help to improve strength, toning and conditioning. This class is suitable for beginners and beyond

You’ll find a fabulous range of group exercise classes here at Wellington Health and Fitness Club. From heart-pumping classes in Studio 1 such as, LES MILLS BODYPUMP and Indoor Cycling, there’s a lot to get you in a sweat. If you prefer the holistic classes, studio 2 is where we hold our Pilates and Yoga classes. We understand life is busy, so if your limited on time we have our 30 minute TRX and FST classes that are held upstairs just outside the gym in the QUBE.
