Welcome to the last newsletter of 2017. It has been an extremely busy year for the Club in many ways both with fantastic support from you our members in terms of using the facility and also with the range of refurbishment and equipment upgrades that have taken place.
Here is a quick summary:
- Opening of the refurbished Gym and Qube facility in January.
- Wet side changing rooms refurbished in July and August.
- Extensive mechanical and engineering works throughout the whole Club from July onwards and now in the finals stages in relation to energy efficiency heating, lighting, air handling and air conditioning and a new pool plant room.
- New heating system in the Main Hall.
- New floor in Studio 1 in August.
- New furniture in Fives during the summer.
- Works to the Real Tennis court also during the summer period.
- Facial recognition entry system that will eventually replace membership cards.
It is appreciated and acknowledged that some of the works did cause disruption and still haven’t fully bedded in but we are close to having fully operational control of all the new systems in the New Year so further adjustments and improvements will be forthcoming
For 2018 the following projects are planned:
- Refurbishment of the squash changing rooms. We are finalising plans and costings.
- Looking at resurfacing options on the current six floodlit courts.
- Hopefully we will be able to announce the latest update on the proposed new indoor netball, tennis and cricket facility in the New Year.
- Replacement of spin bikes late next summer.
- These are the main headline projects for next year.

Please note that there will also be a slightly earlier closing time of 19:00 on Saturday 6th January.

Christmas Group Exercise & Pool Timetables
These are on display in the Club, the App and on the Club web site. www.wellingtonfitness.co.uk
These have been withdrawn from circulation as from the New Year. All the relevant information is on displayed at the Club, on the website and on the Club App.
The reasons for this is that they are costly to produce, cannot be changed without reprinting when changes are made throughout the life cycle of the leaflet and therefore are out of date, there is often wastage of leaflets and the information is now more readily available and easy to access from your phone, tablet, lap or desk top computer through the web site and Club App.
Changes to Pool and Group Exercise Timetables
There are a few changes to the pool time table that include the introduction of a third Aqua Fit class on a Monday morning, the introduction of two lanes in the adult swim sessions on a Monday and Wednesday evening.
With the Group Exercise timetable a number of the underperforming classes have been replaced with more of the popular type classes.
Pilates – These classes are very popular and the majority of the classes are always full. As much as there is the requirement to add more classes to meet the demand there is no additional space on the timetable without removing another popular class and more of an issue is that lack of suitably qualified and available instructors.

The Club has introduced its new Instagram account to sit alongside the Facebook and Twitter accounts. You can find us on _WellingtonFitness_ These are additional communication lines that we use to keep members updated with news and events. If you haven’t already signed up then please do at Facebook @wellingtonfitnessclub and Twitter @wellington_hf
The Club App has been a resounding success and Wellington is one of the country’s leading facilities in regards to the number of members who have uploaded it. We currently have just over 3,000 downloads which is phenomenal and is larger than our current membership base! The majority of all class and court bookings are made through the use of the App.

There are a number of ways you can provide your feedback to us. Email us at email@example.com or complete our Net Promotor Score (NPS) email that is periodically sent to you, complete a comments card or ask to speak to a Duty Manager.
Every organisations says it and so do we in that we value your comments and feedback. It is very important to the Club and it does provide guidance to the team. In the next newsletter we will outline the value of the NPS email to the Club.
