Hello & Goodbye
Last week we said goodbye to one of our long-standing employees, Alex Clayton, who had been with us for 6 years. Alex worked at the club before, during and after going to University. During his breaks he would come back and help in the holidays. After completing his studies in business and marketing he joined us as a full time member of staff in September. Throughout his time, Alex achieved a lot including becoming Duty Manager trained, setting up the weekly Round-Up, as well scoring quite a few goals for the ‘Welly Boots’ five a side team on a Monday evening. We will all miss him around the Club and wish him the very best in his new job and ventures in the future.
A big hello and warm welcome to Lana Dragiceviv who will be joining our team as a part time gym instructor in early February. Lana has a extensive background in Health and Fitness, and she is looking forward to meeting you as soon as we reopen.
What are we doing in the Club?
Whilst the Club is closed, every week one of our Duty Managers are going in to make sure everything is in operational working order so that when we do open back up there are no technical issues or surprises. One of the most important jobs the DMs do when checking the Club is performing a pool water test, which includes testing to make sure the water is at the right PH and ensuring there is the correct balance of chemicals in the water. Alongside the pool check, all other areas of the Club are inspected, including the testing of the Cardiovascular and resistant equipment in the Gym. The Duty Manager will also run the taps, showers, and toilets to prevent any lime scale build-up. With all this being done every week, we are prepared for when the Club reopens.
Outside of the Club many staff are working from home in a variety of different capacities
One of the fun activities staff have done is to complete a ‘Staff Profiles’ questionnaire. We thought it would be good to share some of them, this week we have our Fives team Shan & Ann Marie.
As always we would love to know what you have been up during this second lockdown, whether it be good news or any activities. It would be great to hear from you and could be included in next week’s issue of the blog. Please leave a comment at the bottom of this page or email me, James Carter, at JRC@wellingtonfitness.co.uk
For more regular updates, make sure you check out all of our social media channels, and as always, we welcome any feedback you have.
Stay safe and stay active.
